SPARK – West Belconnen’s new training and employment initiative proudly supports engagement, training and employment pathways for local people.

SPARK in partnership with Uniting Care Kippax and Riverview Projects is delivering a new program in West Belconnen called Kippax Connections.  This program links people from West Belconnen and the wider Belconnen area to vocational education, training and employment opportunities.

Kippax Connections uses a student centered approach to design a customised pathway for each participant that can include:

  • One on one tutoring to help improve numeracy and literacy
  • Individual mentoring to support connections to volunteering, education, training and job opportunities
  • Individual and group sessions to suit the learning style of the participant
  • Assistance with building social connections within the local community; and
  • Financial counselling and budgeting assistance

This program starts on Monday 21st March and runs through to December 2016.   Eligibility criteria apply and places are limited.

A one hour information session will be held on Monday 21st March at 2pm at Uniting Care Kippax Corner Luke St and Hardwick Crescent HOLT , where potential participants will be advised of the selection criteria, the program content and the commitment that is required to be selected as a participant on this program.

To book a place at the information session or find out more information, please contact Michael at Uniting Care Kippax on 6254 1733.

Please note: This project was made possible with assistance from the ACT Government under the Adult Community Education Grants Program.
